The Egg Cube

The EggCube is a travelling restaurant concept by Absolute Blue SA – a Belgian communication company.

It is designed to be temporarily placed and built on important buildings in different cities on the basis of a modular system, easily assembled and transportable.

The form is a recognisable and identifiable icon as an object alien to the urban landscape, underlining the exceptional nature of its presence.

The idea is to offer diners an exclusive experience by dining above the rooftops of any city; but not wanting to limit it to the urban landscape, the concept was developed with the idea of setting up the architecture in less accessible contexts, such as a mountain ridge or a cliff overlooking the sea.

The interior space is devoid of any separation so that one room is visually connected to the other. The view of the panorama outside is contrasted with the view of the kitchen with its show cooking. The skylight in the ceiling accentuates the concept by also relating the starry sky.
